Graphical design education has had a deep impact on my visual language, my art is bright, full of contrast and dynamics, it aims at catching the viewer’s attention. However, it was my working experience as an illustrator that has helped to form the most cautious approach towards each piece of art.
I have been painting with watercolors for many years, so I like to bring watercolor style to the acrylic painting. My paintings are comprised of many layers. I enjoy creating the texture with the help of sand and mediums to achieve a bigger volume and a deeper expressiveness in my pieces. Besides, I am always willing to experiment and discover new techniques. So, I also use oil pastels and watercolor pencils, etc. I dive into the process, since the moment of creation, as well as the result, are both equally important for me.
I am a Ukrainian illustrator and artist, now I am living and working in Prague. I spent my childhood in the South of Crimea, in a small seaside town. There I learned to perceive the beauty of nature. Seascapes, salt lakes, and the humble nature of the steppe are the things that shaped my understanding of beauty. Therefore I think art requires to be understood and strives to be simple.
In 2011 I graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Fine Arts where I got the profession of a graphic designer. The knowledge gained there helped me to show my talents. Later on, I was working for several years as a designer, and then as a computer games animator bringing characters to life. I made over 6,000 illustrations and became the author of a children's book "Big book of colorful foods". It seemed to me that my path should lead me somewhere, where I would understand who I became when I grew up))).
But suddenly I realized that the process itself is beautiful, every day, every moment in life can bring joy. I don't have to choose one and only technique, style, and material forever, I can just do what is making me happy right now and share it.
So, I want to share my painting.
For me painting is essential, I have always painted and I do not know how NOT to paint. What thrills me about the process? I guess, I just like to leave my prints, don’t I? When my daughter is painting, it seems so easy. I watch my daughter is painting and that looks so easy. She just finds ways to express herself. I have tried various techniques and styles and I have always loved the process. I have no idea why, I guess it is like love. When we love, we just love, we don’t know why. We can live our lives thinking over and over and analyzing to find an answer, or we can just love a process.
